Reflecting on 2017

As 2017 comes to a close, it is fitting to reflect on the past year – and what a year it was!

It has only been 7 months since I began my new role as your MLA for Chester-St. Margaret’s, and so many exciting things have already been accomplished. The announcement of the Highway 103 twinning and other upcoming road improvements, our new Seniors Working Group (to be followed shortly by our Tourism Working Group), the introduction of 4-year old pre-primary schooling, the independent review of forest practices and much, much more.

I am especially pleased with the success of our Community Connections meetings, which take place on a monthly basis in 8 communities throughout the constituency. Find details on these events here:

I look forward to the new year with the same excitement and purpose that has led me to having the honour of sharing this message with you now. In 2018, we will see exciting new tourism initiatives for the South Shore, advancement of rural high-speed internet service, further developments in sustainable rural economic development and action on improved coastal environmental protection. I will also be working hard within government and with our partner organizations to improve our health care delivery.

Thank you for your support and encouragement as we move forward together. Mary Lynne and I wish you all a very safe, happy and prosperous 2018.

Happy New Year, Chester-St. Margaret’s.
