Welcome to New Chief Administrative Officer, Municipality of Chester

Today I rose in the House of Assembly to welcome Dan McDougall, who recently joined the Municipality of Chester as their Chief Administrative Officer.

Mr. McDougall has a deep knowledge of municipal government, with 12 years of experience as CAO in other Nova Scotia municipalities. Provincially he was Deputy Minister of the Department of Municipal affairs, and his most recent position was as the Chief Executive Officer of Housing Nova Scotia.

This depth of experience will serve the Councilors and staff of the Municipality of Chester well as they develop and implement policy and programs in the future.

On a personal note, Dan will enjoy the beauty of our constituency closely as an avid runner, marathon participant and endurance swimmer as a participant in the United Way’s Harbour Swims fund-raising events. Last year he swam with his team in Mahone Bay, and hopes to include Chester harbour in this year’s tour of swim events.

I invite everyone to join me in welcoming Dan to Chester -St. Margaret’s, and to wish him well in all his future endeavors.
