Chester Volunteer Firefighters Curling Team 2019 NS Champs

Yesterday I rose in the Legislature to congratulate Skip Chad Stevens, who once again led the Chester Volunteer Firefighters Curling Team to first place in the Nova Scotia firefighters’ competition, held in Bridgewater this past January.

Skip Chad Stevens, with lead Dave Richardson, 2nd Daniel Jessome, 3rd Dennis Stevens, and Director Mike Hennesey then took his foursome to the 2019 nationals in Kelowna, B.C. this March. Team Nova Scotia won 8 of their 10 matches, and brought home the Bronze Medal.

Over the years the Chester Volunteer Firefighters Curling Team has brought home provincial and national medals. They won silver at the nationals in 1998 in Regina and bronze in 2009 in Charlottetown. If fact, it was Skip Chad Stevens who gave Nova Scotia its first Canadian firefighters Gold curling title after defeating Saskatchewan in 2016.

Congratulations Team Stevens on their Nova Scotia Firefighters’ Curling Championship Gold Medal, the Canadian National Bronze Medal, and to wish them well in their future endeavours!
